APC to monitor Kano use of N3bn flood relief funds
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State announced on Sunday that it will closely monitor the state government’s management of the N3 billion flood relief funds provided by the Federal Government.
Abdullahi Abbas, the APC Chairman, emphasized the party's commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of the funds. He voiced concerns about the potential misappropriation of the relief funds, recalling previous instances where palliatives were misused, and stressed the importance of using the money as intended to benefit the public.
A committee, headed by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, has been formed to oversee the distribution of the palliatives. Abbas assured that the APC is determined to prevent any recurrence of past misuse and pledged the party’s efforts to protect the funds from being diverted for political purposes.
