Protesters Flood Federal Capital Territory Streets Again After Short Lull
FCT, Saturday — Following a brief lull, protests have once again erupted in the Federal Capital Territory as demonstrators returned to the streets today.
The unrest, which had been paused due to recent raids on residences and the arrest of key organizers, has resumed with renewed vigor. Initially sparked on August 1, these protests are slated to reach a peak today with an anticipated massive one million-man march across the nation.
On Friday, our reporter noted a significant increase in security personnel around the Central Business District in preparation for today's demonstrations. There has also been a marked rise in security presence at Eagles Square, a sharp contrast to the previous three days, during which no protests were reported.
Starting early at 7 a.m. on Saturday, protesters assembled, raising slogans like "End hunger" and "Reverse fuel subsidy removal," reflecting their continued frustration with current government policies.
