 Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, issued a stern warning to traditional rulers within the state, advising them against providing refuge to individuals suspected of involvement in the tragic killing of military personnel in Okuama community. Emphasizing the fundamental principles of the rule of law and human decency, Oborevwori underscored the imperative of holding accountable those responsible for the heinous act. He urged traditional leaders to cooperate fully in the apprehension of the perpetrators, asserting that Delta State adheres strictly to legal norms and ethical standards.

Oborevwori recounted his immediate actions following the incident, which included convening meetings with local communities, representatives, and security authorities. He described efforts to seek assistance from national security officials and brief the President on the gravity of the situation. Highlighting the gravity of the offense, which resulted in the loss of several military personnel, Oborevwori stressed the urgency of identifying and prosecuting the culprits.
