Slain Kwara monarch’s abducted wife regains freedomThe spouse of the late Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd), alongside two other individuals who were abducted, have reportedly been freed. They were released late on Monday, as confirmed by Chief Samuel Ayobola, the Asiwaju of Koro, to National Pilot. The monarch was tragically killed by the kidnappers while he was about to have dinner on February 1, 2024. The assailants raided the palace around 9 pm, fatally shooting the monarch before abducting his wife and two others. Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later reduced to N40 million.
