The FG has expressed it's intentions to address the issue of escalating food prices

The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investments, Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, has expressed serious concerns regarding the surge in food commodity prices in the country and has conveyed the Federal Government's commitment to addressing this issue. During her visit to Kano on Thursday, she aimed to identify the factors contributing to the high prices of food items and explore ways in which the Federal Government could intervene.

Engaging with stakeholders, the Minister outlined the current administration's plans to boost job creation and elevate the quality of commodities to meet export standards. She emphasized the importance of collaboration with marketers and traders to ensure ample food supply, recognizing their crucial role in the country's food security agenda and the production of goods for export.

The Minister reiterated the President's directive to enhance the export of value-added products and improve the export of raw materials. This strategic approach aligns with the government's goal of addressing rising food prices and fostering economic growth through increased exports.
