At least 10 internally displaced persons were reported killed in camps 1 and 2 in Gbanjimba, Benue State, according to camp commandant Felix Banke. The disclosure was made during a visit by the United States Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance to the camp. There are approximately 15 official IDP camps in the state, with the USBHA team visiting six, including Ichuwa, Bakkaa, Ukpaan, Otese, Daudu, and Gbanjimba. The camp commandant mentioned that armed herders invaded the camps, resulting in casualties. The camp faces a significant challenge of diarrhea due to a lack of clean water supply. The acting Executive Secretary of the State Emergency and Management Agency emphasized collaborative efforts with the Federal Government and international partners to ensure the safety and prompt return of displaced individuals to their homes.
