Equatorial Guinea's Head Coach, Juan Micha, conveyed a blend of sentiments regarding his team's performance against Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, expressing dissatisfaction with the result.
Despite being held to a draw by the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday, the Nzalang Nacional successfully withstood the attacking prowess of their opponents. Equatorial Guinea's goalkeeper, Jesus Ngua, earned the Man of the Match title for his commendable display.
During a post-match news conference, Micha refrained from viewing the result as an accomplishment. He informed reporters that he aimed to continue working towards achieving his objectives in this edition of AFCON in Cote d'Ivoire.
"I believe that the team I lead is progressively getting ready to compete in this tournament. I am fortunate to understand the intricacies of football, having been a high-level player," Micha remarked.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and not succumbing to euphoria after the encouraging result, stating, "Our mission is not complete; there is still much to be done. Equatorial Guinea is set to face Guinea-Bissau in their second game on Thursday, and a victory in this encounter would pave the way for Micha and his team to advance to the round of 16.
