Ondo acting Governor freezes local government account

The Acting Governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reportedly frozen the state's local government account, causing tension among newly appointed caretaker chairmen in the 18 local government areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). Aiyedatiwa instructed a suspension of spending from the local government account, including no signing of cheques, change of signatories, or any withdrawals until further notice. The move is seen as an assertion of authority and an attempt to ensure compliance among caretaker chairmen ahead of the party primary next year. Additionally, Aiyedatiwa delegated the responsibility of preparing and signing his official engagements to the deputy chief of staff, Omojuwa Olusegun.
