Onuesoke Hits Back: Rufai Oseni’s Critics Accused Of Responding With Insults
Onuesoke made these remarks in Delta State on Friday when responding to critics who have commented on Oseni’s interviewing style.
He argued that those who hold a negative opinion of the TV presenter are predominantly individuals with egocentric tendencies and mediocrity who resent his brilliance, as it highlights their own shortcomings.
The PDP stalwart expressed the view that Arise should only invite guests who possess a higher level of intelligence than temperament.
He explained that Rufai Oseni often unsettles such guests by exposing their inadequacies and hypocrisy through probing questions, which they respond to with insults.
He emphasized that the belligerent guests are typically those who become irate when faced with profound questions to which they lack meaningful answers.
Onuesoke shared his own perspective, saying, “I watch Arise today because of Rufai. He is forthright and unafraid to ask questions that can challenge politicians.
He speaks his mind, regardless of the guest’s status. He is a composed and well-educated journalist who often echoes the sentiments of the public.”
Regarding Oseni’s qualifications, Onuesoke revealed that Rufai Oseni is a young, well-educated, well-traveled, highly influential, and informed individual.
He highlighted Oseni’s role as a BBC Bristol Analyst on African Issues since 2014. Oseni has been featured as a guest speaker at prestigious institutions, including Cambridge University and the University of Sussex.
He is regarded as a proficient toastmaster and has moderated panel sessions for various Nigerian government ministries and the government of Mauritius
